Staff Bios

John Miller

Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis

John joined the Office of Financial Planning and Analysis in 2016 as an FP&A program manager.  His responsibilities include supporting the strategic budget process, financial planning, and other projects in support of the University's financial stewardship goals.

Previously, he served as Vice President, Finance and Strategy for CNA Financial's Long-Term Care insurance division.  His responsibilities included financial reporting and analysis, oversight of strategic initiatives and development of analytics capabilities.  Prior to CNA, John was an investment banker in Chicago, primarily focused on the insurance industry.  John is a 2006 graduate of Notre Dame.

Edward Cheatham

Financial Analyst

Edward joined the Office of Financial Planning and Analysis in 2024 as a Financial Analyst. Edward’s primary responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing reporting and partnering with other units on campus to help them achieve their goals. Before joining the Finance Division, Edward worked for Goldman Sachs in Salt Lake City as a Liquidity Risk Analyst and Global Markets Derivative Operations Analyst.

Edward received his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Master’s in Business Analytics from the University of Notre Dame. While a student, Edward joined the Notre Dame Track and Field team as a sophomore after working with the team as a Student Manager his freshman year.
